December

DecemberRams are taken away from the ewes after 28 days. It really should be after 18 days as so few are tupped after this time.  Ewes are then spread out over the farm. I make sure there is enough feed to ensure the embryo and placenta grows well. The rams return to their paddock where they still have energy to fight amongst themselves. The most ewe-to-ram ratio one of our clients used was 1:150 -  not good for me regarding sales but great for the client. (still waiting for 1:200!)
